Responsible Procurement

At OQEP, our Responsible Procurement Framework ensures that every purchasing decision embodies our commitment to sustainability, ethics, and national development in alignment with Oman Vision 2040. We integrate environmental responsibility, social and economic wellbeing, and transparent governance into all procurement activities to drive meaningful impact. Our approach strengthens ICV by prioritizing local suppliers, SMEs, and innovative Omani startups; fueling economic diversification and job creation across the Sultanate. Through this, we aim to enhance energy transition and decarbonization efforts, targeting a 25% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030 and Net Zero by 2050; promote economic diversification by sourcing locally and reinforcing Oman’s industrial base; ensure ethical, transparent, and safe procurement in full compliance with local laws and international standards (ISO 20400, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001); build resilient, innovative supply chains through digital tools, data analytics, and strong supplier partnerships; and support community development by engaging suppliers who uphold human rights, fair labor, and positive social impact. Continuous monitoring, reporting, and improvement keep our procurement practices accountable, transparent, and aligned with OQEP’s sustainability and ICV ambitions — contributing to Oman’s long-term social and economic prosperity.
